International media company DMG Events announced the organization of The Big 5 Summit at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) on 12-15 September.
The Big 5 will take place face-to-face and will try to bring together the largest construction companies in the world to determine the industry development strategy in 2021 and subsequent years, in the “post-covid era”.
This year, the summit will mark its 42nd anniversary as the largest and most influential industry summit in the MEASA region.
The event will host over 1,000 exhibitions from 45 different countries and an additional 20 large exhibition pavilions from a corresponding number of countries.
One of the most important traditional reasons to organize such a summit is to attract attention and push new business projects and inventions in the construction sector to the market.
MEED Projects, a partner company of The Big 5, released a report according to which, despite the storm caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, in the regions of the Middle East and Africa, contracts totaling $ 163 billion were awarded, and a number of contracts worth $ 1.9 billion are under development right now.
Josine Heijmans, vice president at DMG Events and organizer of the summit, expects that face-to-face meeting of the largest companies in the world in the current situation will help to develop a safe strategy for the development of the industry at the regional and international level, fuel business activity and restore severed links between markets.
The need to address escalated issues is under pressure from a large number of projects totaling $ 5.06 trillion across all industry sectors in both the Middle East and Africa.
Heavyweights in the industry include Caparol, Soudal, Saudi Ceramics, Mahy Khoory, Zamil Air Conditioning, Climatech and Emirates Steel, in addition to many construction companies.
The Big 5 will host events such as the Global Construction Leaders' Summit, the Future of Facades Summit and the FutureTech Construction Summit. In total, more than 70 different meetings will be held.
Together with The Big 5, DWTC will host the following events, summits and exhibitions on 12-15 September: The Big 5 Heavy, Middle East Concrete, Windows, Doors & Facades Event, Gulf Glass, HVAC R Expo, The Big 5 Solar, Middle East Stone, Urban Design & Landscape Expo and FM Expo.
